Unmaintained equipment and chimney's are a leading cause of home fires as well as possible sources of carbon monoxide gasses (CO). The last couple of Monday night drills consisted of FAST training at an acquired structure, focused on rescue and removal of a downed member. One scenario was using a roof ladder that gets placed in a basement window to provide an alternate way to remove a firefighter in distress. Earlier this evening, RFD was dispatched to a reported truck fire with extension to the nearby brush

Ramsey NJ Fire Department, November 13

First arriving units confirmed a heavily involved truck. Engine 431 arrived first on scene with 432 and 433 shortly behind and had the fire under control within minutes. All units operated on scene for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.... (Full Story & Photos)
